Canada - A leading destination for higher studies:
Many international students are choosing to study in Canada over other potential destinations — such as the
United States, the United Kingdom, Australia and France — because Canada offers certain advantages like
affordable tuition fees, highly ranked universities, quality institutions, post-study work and immigration options
and an accepting and diverse culture making Canada a leading destination for international students.
Learn & Earn: International students in Canada can work up to 20 hours per week during semesters, and on a full-time basis during school breaks. Even at the legal minimum wage, this allows students to earn about $1000 per month.
Less fees & cost: The tuition fees and other study costs in Canada are usually lower than in other countries even for international students.
Spouse/partner can work: The spouse or common-law partner of an international student may accompany the student in Canada. Not only that, spouses and partners can obtain an open work permit, allowing them to work any hours they wish and for any employer.
Bring your children: International students in Canada can bring their children to Canada, and the kids can attend one of Canada’s public elementary or secondary schools without needing their own study permit.
Best student cities: Canada’s largest cities are ranked among the best student cities by the QS World University Rankings, with Montreal ranked the best student city in the world and Vancouver and Toronto not far behind.
Open post-graduation work permit: Graduates can first study and then work in Canada for up to three years on an open post-graduation work permit.
Permanent residence pathways: Rather than closing the door on graduates who complete their studies in Canada or making matters difficult, as some countries may do, Canada actively sets out to provide permanent residence pathways to students and graduates.
Liberal citizenship process: Canada’s liberal citizenship naturalization process allows international students to count time spent on a study permit towards citizenship residency days requirements.
World Class Education: Canada is ranked #1 by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) for higher education achievement.
Safest and student-friendly: Statistics by Number reveal that Canada’s safety index (62.42) is much higher than the safety indices of other popular studies abroad destinations such as US (49.99), UK (57.9) and Australia (57.94).
Large cohort of India students to form social networks: The number of Indian-international students studying at Canadian universities rose by 127% to 172,625 in 2018 from 76,075 in 2016, according to the Canadian Bureau for International Education.
A major industrialized country: Canada, one of the world’s wealthiest major industrialized countries, has always been a trading nation and commerce remains the engine of economic growth.
An ideal destination to live: The Economist Intelligence Unit’s 2018 liveability report ranks three of Canada’s largest cities in the top ten ideal destinations in the world to live due to a widespread availability of goods and services, low personal risk, and an effective infrastructure.
